well, now I feel silly

So far we've had one comment on our blog, and it was posted by someone who has gone out and done what I wanted to find, a tell it like it is LDS blog with real women, and real problems and inspiration. Not like the size 2, big hair'd sahm of 5 kids, with a husband in the bishopbric and a calling in relief society. No offence to all who fit into that catagory. It's an awesome site. I plan on checking into to it daily. http://modernmollymormon.blogspot.com/

family...

Sorry for the time gap, life has been hetic with work, holidays and family expectations...

Ah, families, you love 'em BUT at the same time, mine sure drives me crazy! At the latest gathering, my mom was in her typical mode PEOPLE PLEASING. She tries to bend over backwards for everyone, and it's gotten out of control. Don't get me wrong, I love it when she is able to help me out, but for people in her ward (she doesn't even know them that well!), previous ward friends, she will drop everything and do all she can to help out as best she can. She truely is amazing, but I see what others don't. She gives so much. She cares so much. She just wants to be liked and have friends. She stretches herself to thin at times, and I fear she gets depressed when others don't go to such lengths for her. I wish I knew what I could do to make her happy. But when I ask, she just talks about marriage and grandkids...and then brings up my dating life...

Then there is my sister who is so selfish that any and every family gathering, no matter what it is, a wedding, funeral, or child event thinks it's all about her! It's amazing how we all just put up with her attitudes and mood swings, just because "that's how she is." I would love to just tell her what's what, but I love her, and so of course, I don't want to offend her! Thus the cycle continues...
I also have a brother in law who I don't quite get. While he and my sister were dating, (different sister) he was very possive of his time with her. The times she cancelled plans with me to be with him, and watch some sports game with his roommates and brothers....what can I say, I am still a little bitter. Now they are married and he still is a little awkward to be around. Maybe it's just me.
How about you bloggers? What's your family like?
